Welcome to Nordic Light on ECLS 2024, an ECMO conference in the beautiful area of Stockholm, Sweden. The conference will be held in the archipelago of Stockholm, on March 13-15, 2024 at Smådalarö Gård. Here you will enjoy ECMO lectures, seminars, discussions and meetings with the industry.

Conference Educational Overview & Learning Objectives
Educational Overview
This conference aims to address the educational needs of Healthcare Workers involved in care of the neonatal, pediatric, and adult patient in respiratory and/or cardiac failure with special focus on extracorporeal life support (ECLS). Presentations and discussions on frontline current matters, latest development in technology, and management and methods related to Neonatal, Pediatric, and Adult ECLS.
Latest treatment and management of respiratory and/or cardiac failure and pathophysiology are conveyed through lectures combined with panel discussions and Meeting of the Experts between the scheduled items of program
Learning objectives
At the end of the conference the attendee should be able to:
- Provide the latest information on the use of ECLS
- Discuss ECMO transport related questions related to age, transport modality, complications, and adverse events, and current and potential for future quality improvements and registry work.
- Outline indications and criteria for patient acceptance for ECLS, recognize risk factors and pitfalls concerning certain patient groups and patient context.
- Identify prognostic factors and ways to manage the non-recovering patient in general, and specifically in sensitive diagnoses, and age groups.
- Realize the core in teamwork, how staff resources are best utilized and maintained also in situations with long-term stress and strain.

We welcome you to the first Nordic Light on ECLS conference focusing on current topics and the educational needs of healthcare providers taking care of neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients on respiratory and cardiac ECLS.
The conference will be held in the Stockholm archipelago at Smådalarö Gård.
The participant fee is SEK 13 500 + VAT for the entire conference and includes full room and board during the conference program. The Spa is not included in the conference fee.

The conference will be held at Smådalarö Gård in the archipelago of Stockholm.

Smådalarö Gård is idyllically located in Hemviken in the Stockholm archipelago. The journey here takes around 50 minutes by car from Stockholm City and 80 minutes from Arlanda Airport. You can also travel from Skavsta airport in less than 2 hours.
As for transportation there are few options – if you wish to use public transportation you can take the commuter train from Arlanda airport to train station Handen and then bus number 839 to Smådalarö. That will take approx. 2,5 hours.
You can take a taxi directly from the airport but make sure to get a fixed price – it takes about 80 minutes and the price is around SEK 1700-2000. Or you can get a rental car.
