X-ray examination

An X-ray examination or diagnostic X-ray involves exposing the body part to be examined to radiation using X-rays. X-ray radiation penetrates the body's tissues differently depending on the permeability of the tissue. For example, bones absorb less radiation and therefore they stand out more distinctly on an X-ray image. Since the body's various tissues absorb X-rays differently, a contrast effect is created and an image of the body's interior appears. Based on this image, the radiologist and the consulting physician can make an assessment.
