Incubator

When a baby is cared for in an incubator, you can control how much heat and moisture the baby needs to maintain its body temperature. A premature baby loses large amounts of water through its skin and the evaporation causes it to lose body heat. By caring for the baby in an incubator with high humidity, you prevent fluid loss. These conditions make it easier for the baby to maintain a normal body temperature. The incubator also makes it easier for the staff to monitor the baby.
