Continuous feeding

Continuous feeding means that the baby receives a set amount of nutrition 24 hours a day. The feed is delivered using an infusion pump which is preset with the amount of nutrition the baby should receive each hour. The feeding syringe and tube have purple markings to show that they contain nutrition. The tube is then connected to the baby's feeding tube which goes down into its stomach.
