Bilicheck

If the baby is jaundiced, the amount of bilirubin in the baby's blood can be measured using a Bilicheck. When the meter is pressed against the skin, it emits a flash of light that measures the amount of bilirubin in the blood. The procedure is done five times in succession, and the average value of the measurements is calculated. If the value is high, it often needs to be checked by taking a blood sample.
