The Hematology Center is the largest hematology clinic in the Nordic region, and treats patients with all forms of blood cancer and non-malignant hematological diseases in the Stockholm area including autologous stemcell transplants in myeloma and lymphoma. Allogeneic transplants are performed at the Center for Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation (CAST) at Karolinska University Hospital.
The Hematology Center also treats patients with certain rare diseases throughout the country and abroad, for example mastocytosis and haemophilia.
The close cooperation between the Hematology Center at Karolinska University Hospital and the Karolinska Institute ensures strong clinical and translational research. The clinical, experimental and epidemiological environments facilitate internationally successful research and there is recognized graduate and undergraduate educational program. There is an extensive program of on-going clinical trials.
