Karolinska University Laboratory
Karolinska University's laboratory occupies a nationally leading role in laboratory medicine, and we have expertise in all laboratory medicine disciplines. We conduct cutting-edge research and development in cooperation with Karolinska Institutet, and with close to 20 million clinical analyses every year, we represent a central component of healthcare.
Our function have a staff of about 2,300 at Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge and Solna, the Blood Centres in Stockholm, Danderyd Hospital, Norrtälje Hospital, Stockholm South General Hospital and Södertälje Hospital and at close to 70 sampling units in outpatient care. We also have a number of fixed and mobile blood donation units.
- We perform close to 20 million analyses a year for about 40,000 service users.
- We are divided into: Centre for Congenital Metabolic Diseases, Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Genetics, Clinical Immunology/Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Chemistry, Laboratories for Community Healthcare and Preliminary Analysis, Clinical Microbiology and Clinical Pathology/Cytology.
- Our service users are located throughout the country and represent all categories of care-provider, in the private and public sectors and in institutions.
- Our activities are environmentally certified in accordance with ISO 14001.
