Karolinska University Hospital has moved some of its units

The move to Karolinska University Hospital's new hospital building in Solna began on November 20, when patients in heart, lung and thorax units moved in. On November 27, units within Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital in Solna moved in, including the pediatric emergency ward.

First patients was welcomed in November 2016

In June 2016, Karolinska University Hospital took over part of the newly built hospital building in Solna. Intensive work then began, to fill and prepare the premises to accept the first patients at the end of November.

Entire new university hospital finished in 2018

The construction work to finish the rest of the new hospital building then continued and the new university hospital in Solna was in full operation in 2018. Most of the hospital's units remained in their current facilities during the period between 2016 and 2018.
