Karolinska University Hospital has moved some of its units

The move to Karolinska University Hospital's new hospital building in Solna has begun. On November 20, patients in heart, lung and thorax units moved in. On November 27, units within Astrid Lindgren Children's Hospital in Solna moved in, including the pediatric emergency ward. In the meantime, the health care activities throughout Karolinska University Hospital are under way as usual.

First patients will be welcomed in November

In June, Karolinska University Hospital took over part of the newly built hospital building in Solna. Intensive work is now under way to fill and prepare the premises to accept the first patients at the end of November.

Entire new university hospital finished in 2018

The construction work to finish the rest of the new hospital building is continuing and the new university hospital in Solna is scheduled to be in full operation in 2018. Most of the hospital's units will remain in their current facilities until 2018.
