Department of Neurophysiology

The Department of Neurophysiology has three offices in Solna, Huddinge and at Soder Hospital.

We provide diagnostic examinations of functional disorders in the central and peripheral nerve system, muscles and certain sense organs, and conduct sleep analyses for diagnosing apnea and other sleeping disorders.

All our examinations are essentially medical consultations and therefore require a referral. They are scheduled individually based on a patient’s symptoms.

The department conducts a total of around 20,000 examinations annually.

We are also engaged in a number of research projects, including active research on sleep apnea, early dementia detection, EEG changes in diabetic patients, detection of vision impairments in children, nerve regeneration and pain management.
