The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology examines and treats women with, among other things, blood disorders, incontinence and various tumor diseases.
We are specialists in handling complications during pregnancy, and our ultrasound units provide intrauterine treatments for fetuses. Our Fertility Unit has been very successful in treating couples who have difficulty conceiving. Nearly 10,000 children are born each year on our maternity wards.
Gynecology, obstetrics (pregnancy/childbirth), and ultrasound operations are available in both Solna and Huddinge, while the Fertility Unit is located in Huddinge. Altogether, around 900 people are employed by the department.
We train future physicians, nurses/midwives and specialists, and perform advanced research in various specialties.
