The Department of Clinical Microbiology at Karolinska University Laboratory has been created through the merger of the bacteriological and virological laboratories at Huddinge Hospital and the microbiological laboratory at Karolinska Hospital.
Clinical Microbiology provides diagnostics and advice in bacteriology, virology, mycology and parasitology. We offer a complete range of microbiological analysis. Clinical Microbiology handles extensive research, development and training within its field.
The laboratory also includes a unit for Hospital Hygienics, which prevents infections through training, monitoring and advice.
Our certified Substrate unit manufactures and sells substrates and solutions. Operations, which are still located in Huddinge and Solna, are accredited by SWEDAC (Swedish Board for Accreditation and Conformity Assessment).
