Karolinska has a new research center: Karolinska Clinical Biomics Center. The research largely deals with mapping and analyzing human proteins and other biomarkers and is highly relevant to clinical practice.
For example, by identifying cancer biomarkers, researchers may be able to diagnose cancer at an earlier stage, or decide the most suitable treatment for the individual patient.
Much of the research at the center focuses on cancer, but some projects address rheumatologic and pulmonary diseases.
