The Center for Infectious Medicine (CIM) bases its operations on clinical services at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Huddinge, and research operations at the Department of Internal Medicine, Huddinge.
CIM operations focus on both experimental basic research and translational activities, addressing experimental questions based on clinical problems.
The research focuses in part on chronic infectious diseases that comprise a large global problem, and in part on their role in the occurrence of several major common diseases. A broad knowledge base in immunology is one of our most important assets.
The center has about 60 active researchers and is financed by theSwedish Foundation for Strategic Research.
