Children’s Department

• Children’s Emergency Room
  The emergency room at the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital and the Karolinska University Hospital in Huddinge provide emergency medical care.
• Neonatology
  The Department of Neonatology treats diseases in children during their first weeks of life.
• Orthopedics, Surgery & AHC
  Pediatric orthopedics at the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital consists of an inpatient ward, a day care unit and a surgical ward.
• Pediatric Anesthesiology and ICU
  The operation is responsible for anesthesia, intensive care and pain treatment for children.
• Pediatric Surgery
  We treat patients with pediatric surgical diseases. This includes patients with inherited defects of the urinary tract or chest and abdominal region, as well as those with other surgical diseases and complications during infancy or later in childhood and adolescence.
• Pediatrics 1
  Within the Department of Pediatrics 1, care is provided for children and young people with cancer diseases, blood diseases, immune deficiencies, gastrointestinal and liver diseases, kidney diseases and rheumatic diseases.
• Pediatrics 2
  We at Pediatrics 2 accept and treat patients with asthma, allergies, diabetes, endocrinological and metabolic diseases, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, respiratory diseases and cystic fibrosis.
• Play Therapy
  Play therapy is a pedagogical activity intended for children and young people that are being cared for at the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital, primarily within institutional care and outpatient care.
