The Foundation supports research in children's diseases, primarily neonatology, child endocrinology, neuropediatrics and pediatrics.
Some 100,000 children are born in Sweden yearly, most of them in good health. Yet, statistically, there is no period in life when a person is in poorer health than at birth.
Roughly one in ten newborn children has to stay in the hospital for some time, and has to start off life as a patient.
If we are able to help a child to get well when newborn, the child will stand a much better chance of leading a healthy, happy life as an adult. In this, research is the key.
We gratefully receive voluntary contributions, large and small, towards our work at the Astrid Lindgren Children’s Hospital.
